Students’ Practice Day

Once a month the students of the school have the opportunity to practice freely among them. The idea is to share this wonderful technique among students who are studying the same level or different levels. We also get the students of the school to know each other, thus promoting the promotion of the practices even outside the school.

The school gives all the material and the students only have to bring two small sheets. There will be a teacher supervising the practices.

Shiatsu Sessions with Marta Barraco

What is shiatsu?

There is evidence of the practice of shiatsu since the beginning of the 20th century, more specifically since 1912, when Tokujiro Namikoshi developed a pressure technique with his thumbs and palms to treat the rheumatoid arthritis that his mother suffered. Like other oriental techniques such as acupuncture, shiatsu is based on a principle by which a person’s state of health will depend by a great extent on how their vital energy flows throughout their body, a process that is carried out through channels called meridians. Bearing this in mind, if certain pressure is applied on said meridians with palms and the fingers of the hand, especially the thumbs, we can redirect and improve the circulation of the energy, and consequently, our health. This is how we will achieve that the aforementioned energy, circulates naturally in our organism thus achieving the perfect harmony between body, mind and spirit, which will make our state of health much better. HAWAIIAN LOMI LOMI MASSAGE COURSE

What is the Lomi Lomi Massage?

The Lomi Lomi Massage or Kahuna Massage, has its origin from the ancient Hawaiian healers, who through Huna philosophy treated body and mind. This style of traditional massage, which is one of the latest trends in relaxing and exotic massages, combines the work of the therapist, performed almost exclusively with the forearms, creating expansive waves on the body in turn relaxing and invigorating, with other techniques such as gemotherapy and aromatherapy.

Lomi Lomi is one of the deepest ways that exist to massage the body, and its objective is to achieve total harmony, working all the muscles and facilitating the flow of energetic fluids. The key to this massage is to act at the same time on distant areas of the body, since the brain has a hard time concentrating on two different areas and it is allowed to be carried by a rhythmic swing.

Hot gem therapy in energetic and reflexive zones and the use of coconut oil make the Lomi Lomi a feast for the senses. It is highly recommended to prevent body tension, eliminate stress, depression and stimulates lymphatic circulation, tightening the muscles and mobilizing the joints. A therapy that treats at the same time the physical, mental, emotional and spiritual levels of the human being, achieving at the same time an intense relaxation.

Juan Santana, is a professional therapist with more than 15 years of experience and great versatility in massage therapy techniques. Teacher of Hawaiian Massage and Traditional Thai Massage. He works in one of the largest spas in Europe. Lomi Lomi therapist instructor for spas and thalassos of a prestigious international hotel chain and creator of the massage ritual for these spaces. He is also an authorized trainer for the Rak Saeng School for the Canary Islands and a member of the Thai Healling Alliance International.
